This presentation included the handout, "Where’s the Money? 2007 Update", listing all of the major, as well as most of the minor funding sources for school facilities in California. The handout identifies the funding source, discusses the typical uses, and includes the nexus requirements for audit compliance.
The presentation power point highlights what’s new for 2007 in funding sources and changes. The Multi-Fund Accounting paper is a discussion of the various means of handling the multi-fund, multi-year aspect of school facilities accounting, including a discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of the approaches.

The Budget and Accounting presentation includes a sample object code list for facilities projects and tips for managing each phase of the project budget. The handout is written to take the user through the process of doing an initial project budget.
The information also includes a discussion of the opportunities for informing the board of the status of the project and the budget.

This presentation includes a description of the three types of audits with special emphasis on the project audit for the Office of Public School Construction. It includes a list of items that the district should be prepared to provide in response to audit requests. This guide should be useful to districts in compiling the correct information throughout their projects and in verifying that they are ready for audit.
The discussion also includes a list of OPSC rules and verifications that each district should know.

Session Number 103 Don't let your GO Bond bog you down!
This session covered the differences between the fiscal audit, the project audit, and the performance audit. The challenges of doing multi-year, multi-fund projects in an annualized fund fiscal system were also discussed. One handout is the PowerPoint presentation. The other is a discussion of the challenges of managing multiple contributing funds for a facility project.

Session Number 129 The Brighter Side of Project Accounting
This workshop had two sections, the first was a practical guide to compiling the project record. The handout details a complete filing system for facilities projects. The second half of the presentation dealt with project budgeting. This handout explains the various stages of project budget development from the district's perspective.

Session Number Building Schools with Little Money
This PowerPoint covers methods for managing the cost of school construction projects. Hints for keeping the costs down were discussed. At the presentation Lettie mentioned a land acquisition matrix which was developed by Lettie and Sergio San Martin of the Anaheim City School District, which we are making available here.
